CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Miramar Street Closure

Project Description/Location The La Jolla East Campus projects have resulted in a substantial increase in the number of construction vehicles circulating the La Jolla Medical Campus. With the increasing volume of construction traffic Health Sciences Dr. and Regents Road is not able to support the normal campus traffic together and the additional construction traffic. Therefore the north entrance to Miramar Street will be closed to accommodate construction of an alternate entrance/exit to the Medical campus via a road that will connect Athena Circle to Miramar Street. Thereafter all construction vehicles will then be able to exit the La Jolla Medical Campus using that route to Miramar Street.

Immediate Street Impacts Beginning June 25, 2012 through 2016 Miramar Street (at the north entrance across from Executive Drive) will be closed for public access from 7 a.m. through 4 p.m. Monday-Friday but will be open for public access and use from 4 p.m. through 7 a.m. Monday-Friday, and all day on weekends (unless overtime work scheduled). Fencing will be provided, along with traffic control and detour signage to direct all inbound and outbound traffic to the south entrance of Miramar Street (across from Regents Park Row) as necessary.
