CONSTRUCTION ALERT - La Jolla Campus Utilities Infrastructure - Medical Center Switch Station Project to Start August 27, 2012

Project Description/Location:

The La Jolla Campus Utilities Infrastructure-Medical Center Switch Station project will begin construction on a utility duct bank crossing Voigt Drive starting Monday, August 27, 2012. The utilities will cross Voigt Drive from the East Campus Switching Station (west of the Preuss School) and continue south through parking lot P702 (north of the Ropes Course). The roadwork crossing Voigt Drive will be accomplished in two phases. Beginning August 27, 2012 and continuing until approximately September 21, 2012 flagmen will regulate a single lane of two-way traffic during that work. Construction hours will be from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p. m. and all traffic control will be removed at the end of each day.

Immediate Street Impacts:

Beginning Monday August 27, 2012 flagmen and traffic control measures will be in place along Voigt Drive. The roadway will be narrowed to a single lane of traffic during the utility installation.
