UC San Diego Staff Association’s Annual Staff Picnic

On behalf of the UC San Diego Staff Association, I am pleased to invite you to this year’s annual Staff Picnic on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Town Square. At UC San Diego, we teach, we discover and we work. As UC San Diego’s new Chancellor, I look forward to this opportunity to meet staff from across campus, and express my appreciation for your hard work and support of this university.

Complimentary lunches will be provided to the first 3,600 staff members who order their free tickets online. This year, ticket distribution will be handled through EventBrite, an online ticketing system that allows users to print their own tickets. In order to ensure that as many staff as possible may attend the picnic, employees will be limited to one ticket per person. To request your ticket, visit the All Staff Picnic webpage on Blink at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/picnic. Ticket holders will be eligible for door prizes at the picnic.

I encourage all staff to join us for this appreciation event. In order to attend the picnic, I am approving two hours of administrative leave with pay, and I ask supervisors to allow employees to attend, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.
