SUBJECT:    BigData@UCSD Workshop November 25, 2013 Qualcomm Institute

We are pleased to announce a one-day workshop on Big Data open to all members of our UC San Diego community on a first-come/first-served basis. Big Data is a much used term open to different interpretations: data gathering, interoperability, analysis, visualization, etc. It is clear that many opportunities for funded research will be available around this vibrant and important general concept.

This exciting workshop will be an opportunity for researchers from every discipline to briefly present what they are doing, the tools and resources they have to offer, as well as areas where they can benefit from collaboration. The goal of the workshop is to foster new collaborations across disciplines at UC San Diego, and thus make us even more competitive for the many Big Data funding opportunities likely to appear in the near future.

Details of this event, including how to register, how to submit an abstract, and how speakers will be chosen can be found at http://bigdata.ucsd.edu/.
