Revised Policy and Procedure Manual Sections 230-20, Appointment of Academic Personnel, and 230-28, Academic Advancements and Reappointments

I am pleased to announce the revision of Policy and Procedure Manual (PPM) sections 230-20, Appointment of Academic Personnel, and 230-28, Academic Advancements and Reappointments, effective retroactively to September 1, 2013.

The updated policies include revisions suggested by the Joint Senate Administration Task Force on the Criteria for Appointment and Advancement in the Adjunct Professor Series, clarification of the criteria for appointment and advancement to Senior LSOE above the top of the salary range, and addition of the honorary titles "Distinguished Research Scientist" and "Distinguished Lecturer with Security of Employment." In addition, PPM 230-20 has been updated to reflect systemwide revisions related to recall of academic appointees (APM 200 and APM 205).
