SUBJECT:    Campus Closure Delivery Schedule

During the campus closure spanning December 23, 2013 through January 1, 2014, most campus buildings are locked. To avoid delay of your priority, perishable, and gas cylinder deliveries, FedEx and UPS will join UCSD Receiving/Distribution to provide a solution that we anticipate will alleviate miscommunication and ensure prompt delivery when possible.

If your package is addressed to be sent to UCSD Receiving/Distribution located at 7835 Trade Street Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92121, the Receiving/Distribution team will attempt to deliver perishable and priority packages to open and accessible locations. If your package is addressed to be sent directly to an on-campus address be aware that both FedEx and UPS will only attempt delivery to those buildings that are open and accessible. Any package or flat that can't be delivered will be re-routed to UCSD Receiving/Distribution located at the Trade Street address and stored in the appropriate refrigerated/freezer condition. We will have dry ice on hand to support repacking if caught and identified.

Receiving will be open to accept incoming packages from 7:00-12:00, and open for customer pick-up from 8:00-12:00 on the following days: Dec 23, 24, 26, 27, 30, and 31. Distribution will attempt to deliver all perishable and priority packages received by 10:00am on the same day, otherwise the attempt will be made the next business day. Gas cylinder orders placed by 11:30am will be delivered the next business day. Delivery attempts for perishable and priority packages, and gas cylinders will be made between the hours of 7:00-2:00.

Please be sure to track (via UPS/FedEx) priority, perishable or sensitive packages, and alert Receiving/Distribution if you plan to pick-up or would like to request delivery of a specific package, so that we may plan accordingly. The tracking number or PO number will be required to track down the package for pick-up or delivery.

Normal business hours will resume on January 2, 2014.
