Call for Nominations for Chancellor’s Medal

As part of UC San Diego’s annual recognition of our founding, I will award the Chancellor’s Medal in conjunction with our Founders’ Celebration at the Founders’ dinner on Saturday, November 16, 2013. I encourage your nomination of visionaries whose impact on UC San Diego has resulted in our rise to international prominence.

The Chancellor’s Medal is one of the highest honors given by UC San Diego for exceptional service in support of the University’s mission. It has been awarded to fewer than 20 leaders/couples since the medal was conceived in 2000.

Nominees must have a connection with the University; however, current employees are not eligible for the medal. Nominators must have an association with UC San Diego. Further guidance and the nomination form can be found at

The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2013. Nominations received after May 1 will be considered the following year.
