SUBJECT:    Re-Opening of Galbraith Hall Study Spaces For Spring 2013 10th Week and Finals

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the extensive renovation of Galbraith Hall (formerly known as CLICS) has been completed. The refurbished student study spaces will be open to accommodate 130 students beginning 10th week, and the new 417-seat lecture hall will come on line for Summer Session I. Also included in the renovation are undergraduate instructional studios for the department of Theatre and Dance's acting, dance and design classes.

To provide much-needed study space in preparation for Spring 2013 Finals, Galbraith Hall 243 and 244 will be open 24/7 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Monday, June 3 and ending at 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 14. The spaces will re-open for Summer Session 1 on Monday, July 1 with both rooms open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The combined rooms seat a total of 130 students and have been furnished with tables, chairs and study carrels. Additionally, within room 243 are two unisex restrooms and a small group study room. The study spaces will be managed by Housing Dining and Hospitality.

An advisory committee composed of students, staff and faculty worked with campus stakeholders and Facilities Design and Construction (FD&C) to advise the campus in the development of the renovation plans for these critical study and classroom spaces. I deeply appreciate the committee's important contributions to our ongoing effort to provide quiet study areas that enable our students' academic success.
