12th Anniversary Commemoration of September 11

In honor of the 12th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, a wreath will be placed at the commemorative tree on Warren Mall at the foot of the Snake Path at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11. John Cerda, Chair of the UC San Diego Veterans Association, will place the wreath and it will remain at the site until sunset.

The carillon on top of Geisel Library will ring at noon to initiate a moment of silence. Then UC San Diego Library staff member, alumnus and carillonneur Scott Paulson will play a special musical peal composed for the occasion.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to pay their respects throughout the day with their own personal expressions of reflection and honor.
