CAMPUS NOTICE

OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR -
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT & PLANNING

January 14, 2014

ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Campus Fire Alarm Notification System Repairs

The automatic fire alarm communication link between campus buildings and the UCSD Police Department is down at this time. The individual building fire alarm systems campus-wide remain operational.

Audible fire alarms, strobes, and suppression systems remain active in all buildings. However, the fire alarm system will not automatically notify campus police in the event of a fire emergency.

Facilities Management and the campus Fire Marshal are working together to correct the situation as soon as possible.

Please take the following precautions in the event of a fire alarm:

* Exit the building first
* Contact campus police immediately at 858-534-4357(HELP) or 911

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Facilities Management Customer Relations Help Desk at wsc@ucsd.edu or 858-534-2930.
