ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Proposed New Campus Policy – UC San Diego Policy for Reporting and Responding to Sex Offenses

The University invites comments on the proposed campus Policy for Reporting and Responding to Sex Offenses.

The proposed Policy locally implements the University of California system-wide Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence Policy, available at: http://tinyurl.com/pwj2j5k

Under the policy, campuses were directed to issue implementing rules for certain policy requirements. This proposed Policy constitutes the implementing rules for the San Diego campus, and is available at: http://tinyurl.com/pzf953f

The proposed Policy will apply to all members of the UC San Diego community. It identifies and defines the sex offenses that are prohibited by UC San Diego and provides guidance about what individuals should do if they believe they have been the subject of a sex offense or have been accused of a sex offense. It also describes what steps UC San Diego will take if a sex offense is reported.

This is a formal review of the proposed implementing rules. Please send any comments or questions about the proposed Policy in writing to the Office for the Prevention of Harassment & Discrimination at ophd@ucsd.edu no later than November 16, 2014.
