Annual Benefits Open Enrollment Period

The annual Benefits Open Enrollment begins at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2014 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Representatives from the various health insurance plans will be providing medical plan presentations for faculty, staff and retirees at the Price Center on Thursday, November 20, 2014. This year, modest changes will be included in the 2015 health programs. For example, the University is adding coverage for chiropractic and acupuncture services and Blue Shield Health Savings Plan, Core and UC Care are adding the Teledoc program, which lets members talk via phone or videoconference, anytime of the day or night with a U.S. board-certified doctor. Health Net Blue & Gold offers a similar program called MD live.

The ARAG Legal plan will be open for enrollment and the University will be changing aspects of the Health Flexible Spending Account in 2015.

Open Enrollment is also the time to enroll or re-enroll in Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) which allow employees to set aside funds to pay for health and/or dependent care while providing tax savings. Employees must enroll in FSAs during Open Enrollment to participate in 2015, even if they are currently enrolled.
