SUBJECT:    Student Veterans Resource Center Coordinator

I am pleased to announce the appointment of James E. Bond as the inaugural coordinator of the Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRC). After eight years of service in the United States Army, James served veterans and students in higher education institutions for the past twelve years. Most recently, he was the Lead Student Veteran Access Advisor at Ashford University, where he developed military and veteran programs and services, facilitated faculty and staff trainings, and chaired the Military and Veteran Student Task Force. Previously, James served as the Retention/Transition Specialist in the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success at National University, where he coordinated student veteran transition initiatives, established VA work study and peer mentor programs, and chaired the Veterans Success Team. Prior to his involvement in student veteran services, James worked for nine years as a Student Activities Advisor at Southwestern College. He has served on local veteran community organizations and holds a Master’s of Science degree in Educational Counseling.

The Student Veterans Resource Center is now open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and for special events. The SVRC is open to all and is located on level 2 of the Student Center The SVRC exists to strengthen our community by supporting the academic success, retention, well-being and career advancement of student veterans.
