FACILITIES DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION June 12, 2014
ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO
Project Description/Location: Renovation of Argo Hall will start the week of June 16, 2014. The building is located west of Revelle Plaza and south of Blake Hall. The renovation of this 1968 structure will include restoration of the building exterior and updated interior finishes as well as updating the fire and life safety system to current standards. The renovation will occur during the summer and is anticipated to be completed in early September 2014. Immediate Impacts: A construction fence will enclose all sides of Argo Hall, and the southeasterly corner of Parking Lot P103 will be used for construction/equipment mobilization. Although the south and west sides of Argo Hall will be closed to pedestrian and bicycle traffic, the north and east sides of the building will not be impacted. Occasional disruptions may occur on the west side of Galbraith Hall to facilitate construction vehicles and material deliveries. Pedestrians are requested to follow any detour signs and walk on existing sidewalks as posted. Bicyclists are requested to follow signs and remain alert in construction areas.
