SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Gilman Parking Structure, Sprint Antenna Improvements

Project Description/Location:

Telecommunication upgrades for Sprint mobile devices started at the Gilman Parking Structure on August 19, 2014. This parking structure is located at the intersection of Gilman Drive and Russell Lane, west of the Sixth College Residence Halls and the Pepper Canyon Apartments. The upgrades are anticipated to take approximately four weeks, with completion expected by September 15, 2014.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian Impacts:

During the weekend of September 13 -14, there will be traffic lanes and walkway closures on the north side of Gilman Drive at Russell Lane to accommodate construction activities. Traffic control measures will be in place while lanes are narrowed at construction locations. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Bike lanes will be impacted along Russell Lane and pedestrians will be directed to adjacent walkways during this period.
