ADMINISTRATIVE COMPUTING AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS September 19, 2014
In response to the increasing cyber security threats, UC San Diego mandated an annual Active Directory (AD) password change last year. This is a reminder that you need to change your AD password before October 14, 2014. Changing your password regularly will help reduce the risk of your AD account being used by hackers to access the campus information systems and services, such as email, wireless network, and virtual private networking (VPN). AD accounts that have not changed passwords between April 14, 2014 and October 13, 2014 will lose the access to the University information systems and services. Unless your department systems administrator has given you specific instructions for changing your password, please follow the instructions on the campus Blink portal. There is a link on the main page or you can search the site using the phrase "AD password reset". Please note that we are deliberately not providing a Web link, so that this message is not mistaken as a phishing scam email. If you have any questions regarding this request, or need assistance, please contact your department systems administrator(s) or the ACT Helpdesk (acthelp@ucsd.edu or 858-534-1853). Thank you.
