I am pleased to invite applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Personnel (AVC-AP). Reporting directly to the Executive Vice Chancellor, the AVC-AP will serve as the senior campus official responsible for Senate and non-Senate academic appointments, promotions and advancements; all salary matters, including salary equity; academic recruitment, development and retention; faculty grievance proceedings; faculty disciplinary proceedings; and consultation on all academic personnel issues. The AVC will serve as the EVC's liaison to the Committee on Academic Personnel (CAP), and the Committee on Privilege and Tenure (P&T), will represent the campus to the UC Office of the President on academic personnel and related policy issues, will collaborate with counterparts at our sister campuses, and will have oversight for the Office of Academic Personnel Services. The AVC will also work closely with academic deans and the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and others to contribute to the larger campus efforts to promote diversity, equal opportunity, and inclusiveness within the faculty.
