January 2015 Representative Assembly Meeting Cancelled

Dear Colleagues:

The January 27, 2015 Representative Assembly Meeting is cancelled, due to lack of necessary business.

At the next Representative Assembly meeting, March 31st, I anticipate that we’ll have a new degree program to be reviewed, the slates of candidates for election will be presented, and we’ll have speakers to discuss pending California legislation that impacts UC and also the Senate’s research grant process.

As announced in a previous notice from Vice Chair Continetti, nominations for following elected Senate positions are being accepted through January 22nd.
* Vice Chair (Chair Designate) of the Division for a two-year term, effective September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2017. The incumbent serves as Vice Chair the first year and as Chair the second year.
* Divisional Representative (three vacancies) to the systemwide Assembly of the Academic Senate for a two-year term, effective September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2017.
* Member of the Committee on Committees from a Health Sciences department, excluding the Department of Medicine and the Department of Cellular & Molecular Medicine, for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2018.
* Member of the Committee on Committees from a Humanities department for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2018.
* Member of the Committee on Committees from an Arts department for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2018.
* Member of the Committee on Committees from a Science department for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2018.
