The University invites comments on the proposed campus Policy for Reporting and Responding to Reports of Discrimination and Harassment. The proposed Policy locally implements system-wide policies on non-discrimination and harassment, including: 1. Nondiscrimination Policy for University of California Publications Regarding Student Related Matters. 2. University of California Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action Policy Regarding Academic and Staff Employment. 3. The sexual harassment portion of the University of California Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence Policy. Under the system-wide policies, campuses were directed to issue implementing rules for certain policy requirements. This proposed Policy constitutes the implementing rules for the San Diego campus, and is available at: http://adminrecords.ucsd.edu/PPM/docs/DiscriminationHarassment%202015-01-28.pdf The proposed Policy will apply to all members of the UC San Diego community. It provides a process through which all members of the University community may report alleged discrimination or harassment or other conduct that violates the Policy. This proposed Policy would supersede existing implementing rules for sexual harassment complaint resolution found at PPM 200-10 and local procedures for complaint resolution for harassment or discrimination on all other protected bases. This is a formal review of the proposed implementing rules. Please send any comments or questions about the proposed Policy in writing to the Office for the Prevention of Harassment & Discrimination at ophd@ucsd.edu no later than March 02, 2015.
