OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR November 16, 2015
ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO
Our thoughts are with the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks, the families struggling to make sense of these barbaric acts, and with the first responders and leaders who seek to protect and serve. We have confirmed our study abroad students are safe, and recognize that others in our UC San Diego community may also be affected both at home and abroad. This is a scenario all too frequent in our world. Scores around the world and on our campus will bear the emotional pain of this international crime against humanity and civilization. The horrific scenes from Paris underscore the fragility of humankind and the necessity for reasoned, rational discourse about our national and world problems. On behalf of the UC San Diego faculty, staff and students, I extend our sincere condolences to all affected by these terrorist actions.
