ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR & November 4, 2015
Google Apps for Education is now available for UC San Diego academic and administrative IT departments to provision to their faculty, staff, and students. The suite of tools includes ad-free versions of Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Hangouts, Sites, Calendar, and Gmail. Under the University of California’s agreement with Google, the deployment of Google Apps for Education is integrated with the existing IT infrastructure, and preserves campus ownership of data. For more information about using Google Apps for Education at UC San Diego, including guidelines on storing protected data, see documentation in Blink at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/google. For general information about Google Apps for Education, see documentation at Google https://goo.gl/6oqVkf. The Google Apps for Education rollout is a collaborative effort between Academic Affairs, SIO, and the newly integrated Information Technology Services department (formerly ACT and ACMS) in support of the university's mission for critical teaching, learning, and research.
