BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL SERVICES February 17, 2015
ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UC SAN DIEGO (including UCSD Health System)
A new application, MyPayments, will be available February 23. MyPayments is for requesting payments that are outside the scope of the Marketplace and Express Card methods and for certain types of reimbursements. MyPayments replaces the Payment Authorization (PayAuth) application. MyPayments will result in a substantial savings of time at all points in the process from determining the appropriate policy to approvals. Highlights include: *exclusive payment types range from awards, books, dues, fees, fellowships, gifts, honoraria, prizes, rents, to scholarships *dynamic Q&A helps users navigate through payment type requirements during document preparation *customized just-in-time policy provides a seamless path requesting only information related to the specific payment type *electronic document attachment feature fulfills retention requirements for supporting and remittance documentation *online issuance of Visa gift cards in compliance with UC policy for non-cash gifts, awards, and prizes *multiple payment types for clinical trial participants provide for payment options including direct participant payment and gift cards MyPayments is accessed via Single Sign On to create, view, and approve transactions. The Business Unit Management Tool (BUMT), currently used for Marketplace documents, was modified to include Department Head roles and MyPayments approval roles for simplified, automated workflow. Training prior to using MyPayments is not mandatory, but is recommended so that you can become familiar with the new application and take advantage of the robust features and functionality.
MyPayments training is being offered with a series of sessions at
several campus locations during the week of February 23. The schedule
for sessions:
Training videos on several topics are available in Blink: Personalized department training at your location can be requested and general questions can be submitted by contacting BFSupport@ucsd.edu (Primary Category: Invoices, Bills, and Payments; Sub Category: MyPayments).
