Celebration of Life for Anthropology Department Founder Melford E. Spiro

Faculty of the Department of Anthropology at UC San Diego invite you to a memorial event to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Melford Spiro, our department's founder, http://adminrecords.ucsd.edu/Notices/2014/2014-10-30-2.html. The campus memorial will be held on April 19, beginning at 2 p.m., in the Atkinson Pavilion of the Faculty Club. In lieu of flowers, Mel's memory can be honored with a contribution to the Mel Spiro Graduate Student Research Support Fund: http://ucsd.edu/go/spirofellowship. The fund will be used to underwrite ethnography and dissertation writing by students in UC San Diego's Department of Anthropology.
