OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR - April 14, 2015
ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO
Congratulations and thank you to the hundreds of UC San Diego community members who came together to make our April 4th Triton Day event a terrific success. Together we welcomed more than 15,000 newly admitted freshmen and their families to campus. Thank you to all who contributed their time and talent to showcase UC San Diego as a student-centered, research-focused, service-oriented public university. A record number of representatives from the undergraduate colleges, academic departments, programs and research units, student support services, student organizations and extracurricular/enrichment programs came out to offer prospective students a glimpse into their future as members of the Triton family. Next up is Transfer Triton Day on Saturday, May 9, 2015, which will offer our admitted transfer students and their families an opportunity to explore the full range of opportunities available at UC San Diego. There is still time to register to get involved. Participate in an academic information session, talk with prospective students and their families at a departmental/program/organization information fair booth, or offer lab tours or open houses. We expect another 5,000-7,000 campus visitors on Transfer Triton Day and we'll all need to come together again to make our campus shine. How to register: All interested academic units/student support units/student organizations must use the Interest Sign Up (http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/tritondays) by Wednesday, April 15, at 5:00 p.m. An email will then be sent from the registration site with a registration link so participants can sign up to offer an information booth, academic or student support sessions, tours, open houses, as well as student performances and information booths by official student organizations. Please note that registration will close on Friday, April 17, at 5:00 p.m. Additionally, many volunteers will be needed to make Transfer Triton Day a great success. To sign up as a Transfer Triton Day volunteer go to the Volunteer 50 website (http://volunteer50.ucsd.edu) and look under Signature Events. Additional information may be found at Tritondays.ucsd.edu.
