ALL SENATE FACULTY AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Improving Student Success via Academic Advising

To support the campus' Strategic Plan for a student-centered university, Student Affairs and Academic Affairs are excited to announce the Academic Advising Innovation Grant Initiative. Research has shown that student success depends on excellence in academic advising. In light of this, the Innovation Grant Initiative's goal is to advance academic advising at UC San Diego. The initiative is seeking proposals designed to support retention and persistence among undergraduate students.

Academic departments, the six Undergraduate Colleges, and student services offices engaged in academic advising are encouraged to develop proposals that address specific challenge areas in academic advising. Awards will range from $50,000 to $75,000 and are to be utilized in the 2015-16 academic year. Renewals for two additional years are possible for awarded proposals that show progress in stated goals and intended outcomes.
