CONSTRUCTION ALERT - La Jolla Medical Center Drive Roadwork and ECOB Access Update

Project Description/Location:

The Medical Center Drive roadway improvements associated with the Altman Clinical Translational Research Institute (ACTRI) project will be completed by July 27, 2015. Access to the East Campus Office Building (ECOB) will resume utilizing Medical Center Drive north for vehicular and bicycle traffic. Pedestrian access between ECOB and Thornton Hospital will remain accessible along Medical Center Drive north. On July 29, 2015, a section of Medical Center Drive south will be closed west of ECOB to accommodate the Gilman Bridge project and other upcoming construction activities through approximately mid-2017.

Immediate Vehicular Traffic, Bicycle Lane and Pedestrian Impacts:

Patients, staff and visitors requiring vehicular access to the ECOB facility and Lot P759 will travel via Medical Center Drive north as shown on the area map. Medical Center Drive south will now be closed to through-traffic.

Bicycle traffic will travel via Medical Center Drive north for all services west of Thornton Hospital.

Pedestrian travel will be maintained along Medical Center Drive north at all times.
