UC San Diego Staff Association’s Annual Staff Picnic

On behalf of the UC San Diego Staff Association, I am pleased to invite you to this year’s annual Summer Celebration Staff Picnic on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Town Square.

Lunches will be provided to the first 3,500 staff members who order their free tickets online. This year, ticket distribution will be handled through EventBrite, an online ticketing system that will allow users to print their own tickets. In order to ensure that as many staff as possible may attend the picnic, employees will be limited to one ticket per person.

Tickets will be available Tuesday, July 28, at 10 a.m. To request your ticket, visit the Staff Picnic webpage on Blink at http://blink.ucsd.edu/HR/services/associations/SA/picnic.html. Ticket holders will be eligible for giveaway prizes at the picnic.

I encourage all staff to join us for this appreciation event. In order to attend the picnic, I am approving two hours of administrative leave with pay, and I ask supervisors to allow employees to attend, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.

I would like to thank the Executive Vice Chancellor and our Vice Chancellors for their continued financial support of the picnic. I would also like to thank the UC San Diego Staff Association and this year’s volunteer Planning Committee for their hard work to organize this enjoyable annual event.
