OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR – ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

July 31, 2015

SENATE AND NON-SENATE ACADEMICS AT UCSD

SUBJECT:    2015-16 UC Salary Program for Academics

As part of the 2015-16 salary plan, President Napolitano has approved a general salary increase of 1.5%, effective July 1, 2015, for non-represented academic personnel. Due to the late announcement of the program details, the increase will be implemented retroactively. It is anticipated that the increase to July and August wages will be reflected on the September 1, 2015 paycheck.

The 1.5% general salary increase will be applied to the academic salary scales, above scale salaries, and off-scale salaries that are not due for tapering.

Exclusions:

Salary scales for represented academic personnel are set by the terms of their collective bargaining contract. This includes Unit 18 Non-Senate Instructional titles, Professional Librarians, Postdoctoral Scholars, Academic Student Employees, and the UCSD House Staff. For more detailed information, please reference the relevant contract at:
http://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/labor/bargaining-units/index.html

Appointees with by-agreement salaries, including visiting titles, are not eligible for the salary increase.

Non-represented Librarians are subject to the Librarian salary structure issued on November 13, 2013; those rates will not be further adjusted.

Graduate Student Researchers will receive a general salary increase of 4% effective October 1, 2015.

Questions regarding the new scales may be directed to academicpersonnel@ucsd.edu.
