OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR – September 17, 2015
ALL ACADEMICS AT UC SAN DIEGO
You are invited to attend the kickoff event for the Visible Molecular Cell Consortium (VMCC), a new inter-institutional alliance between UC San Diego and The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI). The goal of the consortium is to create new partnerships among principal investigators in order to build unrivaled capabilities for mapping cells across a broad range of spatial and temporal scales. The kickoff will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 2 at the Sanford Consortium auditorium. The event will introduce the vision for the VMCC to scientists at both institutions, as well as the first phase of the alliance to establish a dual-laboratory mentorship fellowship program. Participants will have the opportunity to present their research in five-minute lightning talks in order to facilitate discussions among investigators about potential collaborations. There will also be time for one-on-one discussions. Please RSVP at visiblemolecularcell@gmail.com if you plan to attend this event, and indicate whether you would like to give a five-minute lightning talk. We look forward to strengthening the partnership between our institutions, and continuing our work together to advance science and benefit society.
