ALL STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO (INCLUDING HEALTH SCIENCES)

SUBJECT:    New Investigation & Resolution Model for Sexual Violence

UC San Diego is committed to creating and maintaining a community free from all forms of discrimination, including sexual violence and sexual harassment.

In June 2014, University of California President Napolitano convened a Task Force on Preventing and Responding to Sexual Violence and Sexual Assault. The President’s Task Force worked to develop a new UC Policy on Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment, and UC system wide standards for investigating and resolving complaints of sexual violence and sexual harassment.

UC San Diego is implementing the system wide investigation and resolution model for student cases, effective January 4, 2016. The new investigation and resolution procedures will be available at studentconduct.ucsd.edu. I encourage you to review these documents as you settle back in for Winter Quarter.

Students who have experienced sexual violence and sexual harassment may access confidential resources and services through CARE at the Sexual Assault Resource Center (858-534-5793/sarc.ucsd.edu). Reports may be filed with the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) (858-534-8298/ophd.ucsd.edu) or the Office of Student Conduct (858-534-6225/studentconduct.ucsd.edu).

Additional information regarding student resources and reporting options concerning sexual violence can be found at http://sexualviolence.ucsd.edu/.
