CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Revelle College Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian Access Impact

Project Description/Location:

Revelle Switch Station Upgrade, currently under construction in Revelle College, will provide critical electrical infrastructure to reliably service the existing and proposed electrical loads for the campus. The upgrade will require the Installation of underground electrical conduits for the Revelle Switch Station. Prior to excavation, existing underground utilities will be marked out by independent utilities locator to the extent deemed possible. Safety of building occupants and others adjacent to areas of excavation is and will remain of utmost importance in the execution of this work.

The work will occur on Scholars Drive, in front of the Central Utilities Plant, between Gilman Drive and York Lane.

Work will begin on October 24, 2016 and be completed by October 31, 2016. The hours of work will be from 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian Impacts:

Traffic delays on Scholars Drive will occur due to the intermittent closure of the east bound lane. Traffic will be controlled by flag persons when the lane is closed. The bicycle lanes and pedestrian sidewalks will also be impacted by this closure. Please follow signage and allow extra time while traveling on Scholars Drive.
