UC San Diego has teamed up with BMW, Nissan and Ford to provide exclusive electric vehicle leasing and sales opportunities in support of the university’s clean transportation initiatives and ongoing research into electric vehicle charging.

For a limited time, students, faculty and staff can take advantage of the following offers:

Lease a 2017 BMW i3 for $199/month for 30 months. Includes limited free public charging for 24 months, HOV access and a $2,500 California rebate to eligible participants.

Receive a $10,000 cash rebate on the purchase of a 2016 Nissan Leaf. Includes limited free public charging for 24 months, HOV access plus a $7,500 federal tax credit and a $2,500 California rebate to eligible buyers.

Lease a 2016 Ford Focus for $139/month for 36 months. Includes HOV access plus a $2,500 California rebate to eligible participants.

With 90 Clean Air Vehicle stalls available in the Athena Parking Structure and the campus’s ever-expanding portfolio of electric vehicle charging stations, there has never been a better time to consider leasing or buying an electric vehicle. There are currently 60 charging stations on campus and UC San Diego has entered into an agreement to increase the number of stations to over 150 in the next 12-18 months.

For details on these exclusive offers, visit
http://sustain.ucsd.edu/involve/offers.html. UC San Diego students, faculty and staff must show a valid university ID at participating dealers to take advantage of these offers.

Anyone who leases or purchases one of these vehicles will also be invited to participate in an electric vehicle user study being conducted by UC San Diego and its research partners. This is an opt-in study and there is no obligation to participate.

Thank you for your interest in supporting ongoing research and the campus’ sustainability initiatives.
