SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Tree Removal for the Future Osler Parking Structure, School of Medicine

Project Description/Location:

In preparation for the construction of the Osler Parking Structure, tree removal activities will commence adjacent to Osler Lane and Parking Lot P604 during the holiday campus closure. This work is schedule to be completed by January 9, 2017.

The Osler Parking Structure will have a capacity of approximately 1,300 cars, will contain electrical vehicle charging stations and has a secured bicycle storage area. The Osler Parking Structure is designed to relieve immediate parking capacity issues and is part of a larger master plan for the construction of additional parking structures on the main campus. Anticipated start date for the construction of the Osler Parking Structure is Spring 2017.

Please view the area map (the following link can best be viewed with Internet Explorer):

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian Impacts:

The bicycle lanes and pedestrian sidewalks along Gilman Drive and Osler Lane will be impacted by this work due to construction vehicles entering and exiting the work area. It is anticipated that some parking spaces will be lost in P604. Please see the attached map for the impacted areas.

If you have any questions, please contact Project Manager Dennis Brown (dmbrown@ucsd.edu) at (858) 246-0185 or Project Specialist Chris Greenlee (cdgreenlee@ucsd.edu) at (858) 822-2983. We greatly appreciate your patience during these construction activities.
