OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR – April 25, 2016
ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO (including UC Health)
We invite you to join your UC San Diego faculty, staff, and student colleagues as we celebrate Asian and Pacific-Islander culture, traditions and history. The month-long commemoration honors Asian and Pacific Islander American identity through performance and visual arts, film and literature. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate in this important observance of diversity. This year’s theme is “Coming Full Circle: Asian and Pacific Islander Americans at UC San Diego and in Community.” To view the month-long calendar of events, visit: http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/apiahc. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. In recognition of this annual event, two hours of administrative leave with pay have been approved so that employees may participate in a UC San Diego Asian and Pacific Islander American celebration activity. Supervisors are asked to allow employees to attend, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care. We thank the members of the planning committee for their work in coordinating these educational and celebratory campus activities. Please join us and our campus community in honoring the legacy and contributions of Asian and Pacific-Islander Americans.
