SUBJECT:    EDI Grant for Faculty Leadership in Excellence & Diversity

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is offering grants to faculty who seek to enhance their leadership capacity in support of diversity and equity on campus.

Institutionalizing the campus's commitment to diversity requires broad participation and effective leadership. According to APM 210-1-d, contributions that promote equal opportunity and diversity will be recognized in the academic personnel process, and should be "evaluated and credited in the same way as other faculty achievements." The EDI grant for Faculty Leadership in Excellence & Diversity is intended to facilitate faculty access to opportunities that will help them contribute in meaningful and strategic ways.

Grants ranging between $500 and $3,000 will cover the cost of participating in a workshop, conference, or other suitable opportunity. Allowable costs include professional coaching fees, conference or workshop fees, and any associated travel, accommodation, and meals.

All Academic Senate Faculty and Non-Senate Instructional Faculty at UC San Diego are eligible to apply.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and will be awarded based on eligibility and potential for impact (subject to the availability of funds.
