MEMBERS OF THE REPRESENTATIVE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMIC SENATE, SAN DIEGO DIVISION
Dear Colleagues: The April 2016 meeting of the San Diego Divisional Senate Representative Assembly will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at 3:30 p.m., in the Garren Auditorium of the Biomedical Sciences Building (first floor). The Notice of Meeting (agenda) and all pertinent documents may be found at the following two locations:
(1) On the Senate’s homepage under Assembly/Council Meetings, on the
lower right side of the page.
(2) On the Representative Assembly-Schedule page. The Chancellor will address the Assembly at this meeting. Pierre Ouillet, CFO & Vice Chancellor, Brian DeMeulle, Executive Director, ITS-Infrastructure & Operations and Acting Chief Information Security Officer, and Adam Lyddane, Director Clinical Applications and Practice Affiliations, will discuss cybersecurity. Nominations from Senate Council and the Committee on Committees for elected Senate positions will be presented. The Committee on Awards will present nominations for the Distinguished Teaching Awards. Proposals will be presented to establish PhD degrees in Physics and Bioengineering with a specialization in Computational Neurosciences, to authorize the Division of Arts and Humanities to offer Basic Writing Courses at the Divisionwide level, to amend Senate Regulation 600(E)&(G), Campuswide Graduation Requirements, and to amend Senate Bylaw Appendices 5.7, 5.8 and 5.11, Bylaws of the Faculties of UCSD. In addition, a resolution will be presented that requests that the Regents instruct the UC Chief Investment Officer to divest in stocks of companies whose primary business concerns the extraction and sale of fossil fuels. It is a very full agenda. If you are a Representative Assembly member and cannot attend next week’s meeting, please be sure to notify your alternate to do so in your stead.
