SUBJECT:    2016-2017 UC Salary Program

President Napolitano has approved a general salary increase of 1.5% to the salary scales for non-represented academic personnel effective July 1, 2016. In addition, an increase of 1.5% will be applied to eligible above scale salaries and off-scale salary components that are not due for tapering. The new salary rates will be reflected on the August 1, 2016 paycheck.

The salary program for Graduate Student Researchers is under consultation and the scale adjustment will be communicated separately.

Salary scales for represented academic personnel are set by the terms of their collective bargaining contract. Below are approved contractual increases:

The salary scales for Unit 18 Non-Senate Instructional titles will be increased by 3.0% effective July 1, 2016.

The salary scale for Resident Physicians (UC San Diego House Staff) will be adjusted by 1.9% effective July 1, 2016.

The salary scales for student titles in the Academic Student Employees (ASE) bargaining unit will be increased by 4% effective October 1, 2016. For more detailed information about other represented titles, please reference the relevant contracts at:

Exclusions:

Appointees with by-agreement salaries, including visiting titles, are not eligible for the salary increase.
