CAMPUS HUMAN RESOURCES
OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT VICE CHANCELLOR - June 15, 2016
KEY ADMINISTRATORS/KEY SUPPORT STAFF (excluding UC San Diego Health)
The Compensation Classification Advisory Committee will no longer function as a part of the classification review process effective Thursday, June 30, 2016. This decision was made to promote a more efficient classification review process for Managers and Senior Professional (MSP) level positions. Eliminating CCAC will shorten the classification review cycle by 5 days. To ensure due process when there is a disagreement with a decision, CCAC will be replaced with a new MSP review process that will take effect July 1, 2016. The new process is outlined below. New MSP Review Process: . All MSP requests must be submitted to the Director of Compensation for review and determination. This includes MSP requests from both the Campus and the Medical Center. . If a MSP request is denied, then the department may request a reconsideration which must be endorsed by the VC Office and submitted to the Director of Compensation within 30 days from notice of denial. The Director of Compensation will forward the reconsideration request to the Appeals Board for review. . Once received, the Appeals Board will review the reconsideration request and all supporting documents to make a final determination regarding the MSP grade level. For positions that have been mapped into the Career Track payroll titles, the decision will include the CT job family, specialty and level. Appeals Board Members:
. Pierre Ouillet, VC and CFO, Campus and Health Sciences Please send any questions regarding this communication to Robert A. Crouch at rcrouch@ucsd.edu for Campus employees and Janet Kamerman at jkamerman@ucsd.edu for Health Sciences employees (including Medical Center employees).
