CONSTRUCTION ALERT UPDATE- Tuolumne (Muir) Apartments, Muir College

Project Description/Locations:

UC San Diego Housing will be renovating the Tuolumne Apartments at Muir College beginning Monday June 27, 2016, with an expected completion by Friday September 9, 2016. Normal hours of construction will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Modifications in construction activities could be conducted with campus approval to include some weekend activities. The Tuolumne Apartments are located in UC San Diego’s Muir College Campus on the west area of campus, just north of the Muir tennis courts, at the intersection of Scholars Lane & Scholars Drive South. The project will include renovations to all areas and levels of the facility and the surrounding site area.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bicycle and Pedestrian Impacts:

Faculty, Staff and Students may experience additional construction traffic on Scholars Lane & Scholars Drive South, with traffic coming from North Torrey Pines Road. Roadways will remain open, with signage and flagmen posted to assist with circumnavigation of construction traffic.

Pedestrian and bike pathways will be impacted. Pedestrian and bike paths may be redirected to adjacent walkways and building entry points during some phases of construction.
