Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management at UC San Diego

It is a pleasure to announce the appointment of Adele C. Brumfield as the new Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management at UC San Diego. Adele brings more than twenty-five years of experience in undergraduate admissions, most recently as the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In this role Adele developed enrollment projections and targets, collaborated with campus partners to develop and execute admissions and recruitment plans, re-envisioned and expanded outreach opportunities, and oversaw marketing communications and strategic alignment efforts to advance institutional priorities. Under Adele’s leadership in 2015, Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment at UW-Madison received a record 40,000 freshmen and transfer applications, hosted over 35,000 students and guests during campus admission events, and contributed to a 96% first-year retention rate for the 2014 student cohort.

Adele’s demonstrable track record of success and passion for access and excellence in undergraduate admissions will be pivotal in UC San Diego’s mission to attract, enroll, and retain a highly competitive and diverse student body. Adele holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech from Marquette University and a Master of Arts in Telecommunication from Michigan State University.

The AVC of Enrollment Management will report to the Vice Chancellor-Student Affairs and hold direct supervisory responsibility and oversight for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, Registrar’s Office, Student Affairs Technology Services, the Cal-SOAP Program, and Parent and Family Programs, as well as the administrative, marketing, operational and technical units that support these departments. She will also be an integral member of the Vice Chancellor-Student Affairs Leadership Team.
