SUBJECT:    VC-EDI Launches New Series: Engaging Our Principles of Community

This fall, to further promote and communicate UC San Diego’s Principles of Community, the Office for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion will kick off a series of initiatives to emphasize the Principles as central tenets for a more equitable campus climate. The series – Engaging Our Principles of Community – will include seminars and workshops, as well as Campus Climate Enhancement Grant opportunities, ranging from $2,500 to $10,000. Additional details will be posted in the coming weeks at http://d iversity.ucsd.edu/engaging-principles/index.html

UC San Diego’s Principles of Community are vital to the success of our university. They serve as a foundation to provide fair and equitable treatment for all campus members, encourage a climate of cooperation and professionalism, foster inclusiveness and respect, and promote collaborative attitudes and actions.

We are committed to creating the best possible living, learning and working environment at UC San Diego. We will continue to enhance our campus climate by advancing our knowledge and understanding of local and national issues and how they affect our campus members, and by promoting open and respectful dialogue and engagement.

As we begin a new academic year, we encourage every member of our campus community to revisit our Principles of Community: http://ucsd.edu/about/princ iples.html. Thank you for your support in ensuring a welcoming environment at UC San Diego.
