FACILITIES DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION January 4, 2017
Project Description/Location: The new Satellite Utility Plant, located in existing parking lot P604 next to Central Research Services Facility, will provide approximately 7,000 new gross square feet to house emergency power generators and switchgear. The facility will provide emergency power to the Pharmaceutical Sciences Building, Biomedical Research Facility II, and Central Research Services Facility after completion to ensure more reliable power service to these facilities in the School of Medicine. Construction of the Satellite Utility Plant will begin on January 9, 2017 with an anticipated completion of December 2017. Construction impacts will include closing approximately 70 parking spaces south of parking lot P604. Access to parking lot P604 from Pharmacy Lane will be closed and no through traffic from the south. Access to the CRSF loading dock will remain open during construction with an alternate entrance to accommodate construction phasing of the project. There will be minor pedestrian impacts due to the project construction. Please reference the map link below for pedestrian routes around the project site. Entrance to parking lot P604 from Osler Lane will be impacted with construction vehicles entering and exiting the site.
