Update: CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Scripps Institution of Oceanography Emergency Power Improvement

Project Description/Location:

A new generator will be installed to provide emergency power to Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO). This new generator will be located in the north end of the Deep Sea Drilling parking lot, P016. Construction of this project will begin on Friday, October 13, 2017 with an anticipated completion date of June 29, 2018.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bicycle Lane and Pedestrian Impacts:

Construction impacts will include closing 25 parking spaces at the north end of Parking Lot P016 and redirecting traffic through existing spaces. The entrance to Parking Lot P016 will be impacted with construction vehicles entering and exiting the site.

Pedestrian pathways will be intermittently impacted. Please follow signage and allow extra time while traveling. A construction fence around the project site, at the north end of Parking Lot P016, will block access to that area.
