UC San Diego Veterans Staff Association Veterans’ Recognition Ceremony

I am pleased to announce the 18th Annual UC San Diego Veterans Staff Association Veterans Recognition Ceremony to honor our veterans and members of the Armed Forces. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in UC San Diego’s Supercomputer Center Auditorium. The event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served immediately following the celebration. The theme of this year’s ceremony is “Recognizing Veteran Entrepreneurship.”

Our UC San Diego Veteran of the Year, James Seddon, will be honored and thanked for his service, and each veteran and military service member in attendance will be recognized.

To support the recognition of veterans and members of the Armed Forces on campus, I am approving 90 minutes of administrative leave with pay. I ask supervisors to allow employees to attend as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required duties or patient care.
