| SUBJECT: | Update: CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Downwind Way and Shellback Way Roadway Improvements |
Project Description/Location:
On October 16, 2017, Facilities Management will begin a project to replace the road along Downwind Way and Shellback Way in the Scripps Institution of Oceanography neighborhood; the anticipated completion date is December 20, 2017. The project will provide necessary improvements along this portion of the roadway. Additional improvements at the intersection of La Jolla Shores Drive and Downwind Way will occur in the Spring of 2018.
Immediate Impacts:
Throughout the duration of the project, there will be extended periods of time when the road is converted to accommodate only one-way traffic.
There will be a short period of time (24 hours and during the weekend) when the intersection of Downwind Way and Shellback Way is completely closed off to public use – the specific date of this closure will be provided as part of a follow-on notice.
