ENVIRONMENTAL AND BUILDING SERVICES

October 9, 2017

ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF, AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Hepatitis A Information and Resources

With the ongoing Hepatitis A virus outbreak, UC San Diego has been monitoring the situation, seeking ways to protect the campus. We encourage the campus community to learn more about the virus and what you can do to protect yourself.

Key steps you can take include:

Follow proper hygiene. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after using the bathroom and before handling food.

Get vaccinated. The hepatitis A vaccine is recommended for anyone who wants it and is especially important for all children, and people with certain risk factors and medical conditions.
