HUMAN RESOURCES November 7, 2017
The University of California (UC) Management Skills Assessment Program (MSAP) is designed to strengthen the engagement and preparation of UC supervisors, managers, and professionals. The program offers a unique assessment center experience for early career managers and professionals which, over time, is intended to cumulatively build a valuable talent pipeline that assists the University in supporting upward mobility, succession planning, and deployment of talent as workforce needs unfold. Extensive research conducted in the fields of management and organizational behavior has determined that the MSAP is comparable to other more costly assessment programs. The next UC MSAP occurs April 23 - 26 with an application deadline of Friday, December 22, 2017. This program is held at the UCLA Conference Center at Lake Arrowhead. The fee for assessees is $1,300.00, and includes food and lodging for three days and three nights, and a 360-degree feedback assessment. Staff Education and Development may have funds to assist with off-setting a portion of the assessee participant fee. Staff Education and Development, a division of the Human Resources Department, coordinates the program. For the assessee application form and to learn more about the MSAP, please visit the following link: I strongly encourage departments to consider supporting interested employees in attending this valuable professional development experience. Ninety-eight percent of past participants have indicated that they would recommend attending. Please contact Linda Veliz in Staff Education and Development by email at lveliz@ucsd.edu if you need additional information.
