CAPITAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT December 19, 2017
Project Location/Description: The City of San Diego is widening Regents Road between Genesee Avenue and Executive Drive from a two to four-lane street, with the addition of new bike lanes. There will be a closure of Regents Road and Health Sciences Drive Northbound and Southbound lanes from Eastgate Mall to Genesee Avenue from Thursday, December 28 at 6:00am until Friday, December 29 at 4:00pm to accommodate the final asphalt paving. Regents Road provides access to UC San Diego’s East Campus including the Medical Center, parking facilities, graduate housing facilities, and the UC San Diego Science Research Park. Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic, and Pedestrian Impacts: Patient, staff, visitor, and emergency vehicle access to the UCSD Medical Center will remain available at all times. During the December 28th-29th closure of Regents Road, access to the UC San Diego Medical Center from Campus Point Drive and Genesee will be unaffected. Ambulance access to the Emergency Department will remain available at all times. The new Athena Way entrance is another alternate route off of Regents Road, south of the closure. Pedestrian and Bicycle traffic should use Campus Point Drive or Athena Way to access the Medical Center and east campus. Thank you for your patience during these construction activities.
