OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR - March 24, 2017
ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO
Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in UC San Diego's Celebration of César E. Chávez Month. The life and achievements of César E. Chávez, labor leader and champion of human rights, will be observed through diverse activities, including a kickoff and awards luncheon, film screenings and lectures. This year’s celebration theme is “United, Resistant & Unafraid.” To view the month-long calendar of events, visit: http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/chavez. All events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted. In recognition of this annual event, two hours of administrative leave with pay have been approved for employees to attend a UC San Diego's César E. Chávez Celebration event. Supervisors, upon request, may approve the use of such leave when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care. We would like to thank the members of the UC San Diego César E. Chávez Planning Committee for their work to coordinate these educational and celebratory campus activities. Please join us as we celebrate the legacy and contributions of César E. Chávez.
