STUDENT AFFAIRS April 6, 2017
ALL STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO
Student Affairs is engaged in a search for an Assistant Vice Chancellor-Student Life (AVC-SL), a position currently filled by Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor-Student Life, Sharon Van Bruggen. The AVC-SL is responsible for managing facilities, programs, policies and services that meet students’ daily needs, enrich student life, build community and belonging, and promote student engagement and learning. The AVC-SL provides strategic leadership and oversight to the University Centers (Price Center, Student Center), Center for Student Involvement (Student Organizations, Greek Life, Leadership and Communication Programs, Community Service and Social Innovation programs), Student Governments (Associated Students, Graduate Student Association), University Events Office, ArtPower (Performing Arts), Student Legal Services, and the Student Life Business Office. Members of the campus community, including undergraduate and graduate students, participated in a national search for a qualified leader to direct this critical student-centered unit. The search committee identified two finalists and has invited them to campus to meet with additional members of the campus community. As a UC San Diego student, I invite you to participate in a facilitated student session with each finalist. In the session you will hear directly from the candidates and have an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates. Below is the schedule. I hope you will find the time to attend and provide your feedback. Student Forum Sessions: · Wednesday, April 12, 4 - 5pm, Red Shoe Room, Price Center West · Thursday, April 13, 4 - 5pm, Roosevelt College Room, Price Center West
